Advanced noise monitoring equipment for laboratory testing with real-world applications

At Noise and Weather Monitoring Ltd, we are proud to work with some of New Zealand's leading institutions and industry bodies to supply noise monitoring equipment that helps to develop new products and ways of soundproofing.
Our laboratory-standard noise level meters and associated equipment help you get precise results in excellent detail, giving you greater accuracy and more information for your projects. Our state-of-the-art Norsonic equipment is currently used at the University of Auckland to investigate the effects of wall dampening and soundproofing, and will be used by GIB NZ for product testing.

Norsonic's innovative technology, combined with our
years of experience supplying and installing noise monitoring systems, provides enhanced acoustic measurement when your project demands it.

High-quality equipment for superior results

The systems we supply for lab testing, development testing or testing room acoustics, utilise our high-quality acoustic measurement equipment for building acoustics, with the addition of extra components for more accurate results. Extra components can include:
  • Microphone boom arms that can swing around to detect sound waves, including tonal noises like whistles and quieter patches. This ensures that you get an averaged result, rather than relying on measurements from a single spot.
  • Multi-microphone integration. You can connect up to 10 microphones in one room, providing a thorough assessment of your acoustic environment. This capability ensures that all sound sources are accounted for, delivering a complete and precise acoustic analysis.
  • A tapping machine to simulate footfall across a floor either in the room or from a room above, below or to the side.

Advanced software for quick, accurate analysis

Norsonic's intuitive software makes it easy for you to record, analyse and report on your data. As well as integrating and managing various noise sources, the software allows you to control systems, store projects and analyse data from a central platform.
Our equipment also offers real-time analysis, providing immediate feedback on noise levels and acoustic changes. This feature is invaluable in laboratory environments, where rapid testing and evaluation are often required. With our systems, you can quickly assess the impact of acoustic changes, enabling you to make informed decisions without delay.
